Eligibility Criteria for Army Medical College Admission

There is a set of different requirements which you need to check before applying for this prestigious institution. These include the following:

  • Applicants must be 17 to 25 years of age.
  • The marital status of the applicant must be unmarried.
  • Applicants must have passed F.sc.(Faculty of Science) or equivalent with majors in biology, chemistry, and Physics.
  • Applicants need to have at least 70 percent marks in F.sc. and matriculation to be eligible for admission to Army Medical College. However, for medical cadets, it is 60% in F.Sc.

1. Medical Cadet Course 2022

Induction Test for Medical Cadet Course in Army Medical College

It is a four-step process.

  1. Initial Test
  2. Physical Test
  3. Medical test
  4. Interview

The process usually starts in the June-July months after the completion of intermediate exams.

1. Initial Test

Talking about it, it is a written test covering the portion of your pre-medical studies, along with a personality test and intelligence test. This is the initial screening test and the purpose is to make sure that the applicant is suitable for the military.

2. Physical Test

As mentioned above, every medical cadet has to go through the PMA training at the end. This test screens that the applicant is fit for that and fitness wouldn’t hinder the training. The physical test for Army Medical College admission includes push-ups, chin-ups, ditch crossing, and chest measurement along with many others.

Candidates are expected to have normal weight as per body mass index and a heigh of at least 5’ 4″ (162.5 cm).

3. Medical Test

2. Selection through NUMS Cadet Course for Army Medical College:

This route gets 40 MBBS seats and 07 BDS seats. The National University of Medical Sciences (NUMS) conducts a test in all major cities of Pakistan twice a year. You can either apply on the basis of your first-year result or second-year result. You will get the score of the NTS via email.

The most important thing is that both genders can apply for this course. Additionally, graduates wouldn’t have to go through any kind of training and they can practice freely after graduating without being bound to serve in the army. However, if they want to join the Pakistan army, they will have to apply for the selection separately.

Registration of NUMS Entry Test:

After going through the eligibility criteria, you have to register yourself for the NUMS entry test. It is a very convenient online process.

  • Firstly, you have to go to the official website of NUMS.
  • Next, you are going to search for “Registration” and select the NUMS entry test.
  • After that, you will fill out the form and select the nearest test center to you.
  • Then, proceed to registration.
  • Now, you will need to generate a voucher of 3000 PKR of your name which is payable at any branch of HBL.

Make sure to reach the test center 30 minutes before the test starts with your CNIC/B form, printed admit card issued by NTS, and stationary in a transparent holder.

NUMS-MDCAT test lasts for 150 minutes or two and a half hours and consists of 200 MCQs. There is no negative marking in the NUMS entry test. These usually consist of 80 MCQs for biology, 60 for chemistry, 40 for physics, and 20 for English.

You need to secure at least a 70 percent score on the NUMS entry test. Currently, the weightage of the test is 50 percent and the rest of 50 percent is of F.sc.

3. Admission Guide for Paying Cadets and Additional Selected Cadets

This route has a total of 45 MBBS seats and 33 BD seats. These seats are specifically for the children of military personnel irrespective of their ranks. They are not gender-specific and both males and females can apply for them. Initially, the selected candidates have to pay the full fee, but later on, they will get a refund of it.

Paying cadets will also have to wear the official uniform of the Army after selection and after graduation, they will also get an appointment as captain in the Pakistan military. Unlike medical cadets, they just need to serve the military for 3 years.

Paying Cadet Form:

You have to get this form from the respective headquarters of your parent and fill the form carefully. You will need to attach an attested copy of matriculation and intermediate results, a copy of CNIC, or B form and finally, if you have a retired parent then release certification. 4. Guide for the Foreign Applicants for Army Medical College Admission

Foreign applicants have 15 seats for MBBS and 07 seats for BDS. These candidates must have 12 years of education or equivalent certification by the Federal Board. You can also submit British General certification of education or Cambridge high school certification with cumulative 60 percent marks in biology, chemistry, and physics.

Either you can apply with the NUMS entry test or SAT II. Subjects will remain the same: biology, chemistry, and physics. Lastly, you can apply on the basis of the foreign MCAT with a minimum of 500 scores.
